Online workshop “Urban greenness, health and climate concerns”

The public online workshop discussing the human health impacts of urban greenness will be held on Friday, 26 January. Environmental health experts will discuss the latest research findings and mitigation strategies for health problems caused by climate change.

The workshop will take place in Teams from 11:00–12:30. Participation is free, but registration is required by 25 January.

11:05–11:30 Mapping urban heat for public health risk planning: pitfalls and opportunities, Zander Venter, Norwegian Institute for Nature Research
11:30–11:55 Green inequality in Estonian cities – what does it mean in health perspectives, Hans Orru
11:55–12:20 Thunder + Pollen = Increased risk of acute respiratory illness, Mare Lõhmus, Karolinska Institutet
12:20–12:30 Summary and concluding remarks

The event is organised by the University of Tartu, Karolinska Institutet, the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research, and the CICERO Center for International Climate Research under the ENBEL project.
